Take your drawing skills to the next level in this illustration course devoted to close observation and detailed representation of natural subjects. Plant, pet, or pollinator, shell, stone, or bone—the choice will be yours. Through demonstrations, tips, and individualized instruction, Helen Byers will guide students in the delights of drawing from life as well as with the help of magnification and photo reference. We will practice versatile illustration techniques on paper using graphite, colored pencil, and watercolor, singly or in combination, to achieve desired effects of tone, texture, and color. Some previous drawing experience helpful.
